WATER FROM THE ROCK
By Connie Ciccone

Water flowed
from the rock,
enough to quench the thirst
of every man, herd, and flock ...

Out of the dry barren desert
manna picked from the morning dew;
enough to feed the millions,
not just for a few ...

Meat from the sky
to eat until their fill:
God supplied at their murmurings
and today He does that still.

Forty years in the desert
their clothes never wore out.
Their feet never grew weary
as they wandered all about.

Water from the rock:
supply for daily need
food for the millions
without one planted seed.

Thus, He says,
"In the desert of trial and testing,
forty years, I brought you through.
I am Jehovah, the God Almighty.
What I Promise, I will do.

Have you so soon forgotten
my precious beloved, flock,
This is not hard for me?
In the desert,
I sent water from the rock.

Let your murmurings cease
As I take you by the hand
to a place of milk and honey,
Just as I planned.

Murmur not, my little ones.
As you remember,
to take stock.
I am your God, your provider.
I bring water from the rock.

When you posses the land given
its riches far exceed the need,
Remember I Am He.
Don't forget me, in your greed.

Jesus is Our Rock,
the Rock of our Salvation,
His hand will bring us out,
even through our present tribulation.

Remember the desert places.
time measures by the clock.
But, I shall not forget
He brought me out,
WITH
WATER FROM THE ROCK
